You ain't seen nothing yet. I have 2 daughters - It was R80k each (per year) for high school and about R100k each (per year) for 4 years of study - those are just fees - no extras. We had to buy a car for my youngest daughter because she traveled a lot due to having her horse stabled off campus whilst at Res. They did loads of sport which was costly and took up a lot of time (but created passion and balance)

I don't have answers...or an expensive car or any cash laying around...but I do have 2 well balanced, decent, secure, self reliant, (not knocked up) well educated daughters....so its all good. The best investment one can make is in the all-round-education of your kids - at the end of it all they are really the only people that matter. Our purpose as parents is not to pass the flame - it is to enable them to create their own flame that burns as brightly in whatever color they choose!

Fees must fall is nonsense - People have to earn their education - we are creating a "participation medal" world of mediocrity where "mere existence and making a lot of social justice noise" trumps hard work, excellence and passion. A world where everything is given on a platter out of fear of the woke brigade. Well F-that - ride a bike, fall on your ass and get up - it you come last in the race then you must practice - you don't get a medal because you waved a banner!

Home Schooling works out a lot better but the child needs a TON of self discipline. I am a Guardian and after seeing what was happening at the local High-School i thought home school is the best choice. You do need a good internet, computer and the child needs to be with friends so sport is important and special care must be taken with social-life in general.
