    Samsung smart TV

Hi, I am in the process of getting fibre at my home and I have been trying to connect my Samsung TV, which is about 4 years old, and which has an ethernet socket, to the internet (using my existing ADSL). I connected the tv to my router with an ethernet cable and in the tv settings, I ostensibly managed to "connect to the internet".

I want to download the Netflix app but my tv remote does not have a Smart Hub button. How do I download apps? Or for that matter, connect to the internet and browse? I've sort of hit a wall since everything I've read up on seems to revolve around the Smart Hub button. Maybe my tv is too old for this but then why does it have an ethernet socket?

Anyway, any advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    André

For Netflix get a chromecast or an apple TV. Apple also has Amazon Prime app which is not on chromecast.
Only stress when you can change the outcome!

          Hi Andre

Are you sure if the TV is a smart tv. I have two Samsung TVs. One is a older model with an ethernet jack but is not smart, the second one is smart with a smart tv remote. Apps was pre-installed on the second tv. When my battery in my smart tv packed up. I successfully used the 1st remote to access my apps even though it is not a smart tv remote by using the content button.

Just put some sticky tape over the front camera of the Smart TV , they can watch you :-)
