I've been putting it off for a couple of years now, but finally, after struggling to get my wife's earrings sorted a couple of weeks ago, I've finally succumbed and got glasses.
Damn - takes a bit of getting used to, huh. How long does this feeling of disorientation last, exactly?
They're multi-focals - supposed to put them on and forget them. The trouble is that there are different zones for different distances. So when you move your head, different levels move at different speeds. Most disconcerting.

The thought of it makes me dizzy. I'd be interested to know what other peoples experience is adjusting to that. I "fortunately" only have my short sightedness and contacts to deal with.
I got my first pair in grade 5! Can you imagine how much that broke my spirit back then?
Anyway, to get to the point, my new glasses normally take up to 2 - 3 days, depending on the curve in the lenses, and the type of coatings. Contact lenses on the other hand can take up to 5 days, once you get used to actually putting them into your eyes
