where to find out about car registration renewals?

Hi all

Does anyone know where to find out more about car registration renewals? I DON'T want to drive to JHB CBD, stand in a queue for 5 hours only to be told they can't help me.

I got a renewal notice in May, paid by cheque in the post (as I've done for the past 7 years, and still haven't received my new license. Now I sit with a R500 fine and don't know where / how to sort this mess out. Please help?

I know you can pay vehicle licence renewals at a number of post offices nowadays. But this might not be the kind of problem that could be sorted out at a satellite office like that.

I found this page on the eNatis system that includes telephone numbers for some of the Gauteng offices.

Thanx, I just wish someone, at ANY of those offices would bother to come to work today and answer the phone!!! Man, I sometimes wonder why I even bother calling myself a South African citizen.

I know friends of mine in Pretoria used to use Test Best. Looks like they are only in Pretoria, but maybe they know someone who does the same thing in Joburg?
