First impressions of TFSA - comparisons with similar forums

My first impressions of TFSA have been very good, it compares well with some other forums I browse on regularly.

MR LANDLORD is THE #1 WEBSITE for do-it yourself landlords. Get the resources, advice, tools, services, training you need to build wealth with rental property.

MyBroadband – South Africa's biggest and best IT news website, covering the latest international and local IT and tech news.

The common thread on all successful forums is a core group of members prepared to help others, and share their expertise, I am regularly staggered by the effort Bogleheads members go to in assisting complete strangers. It has a USA focus, where the financial system is very different to here, but they discuss a very wide range of topics.
The forum is strictly moderated, and also has a very comprehensive Wiki.

My interests are property and stockmarket investments.

Locally, Paddocks have an excellent sectional title training facility, with active website, Facebook page and consulting club (a closed forum for paid subscribers only

The Paddocks team are specialists in Sectional Title & Home Owners' Association (HOA) law. We offer online short courses, legal advice, books & more!

Yes this forum is very good. I am just curious to know why you would come on to a forum and post 4 other links to other forums within 3 posts ?

Thanks Marc, I will revisit at sto.co.za, I think I have been there before, but I will definitely have another look.

By the way, I have followed your posts on the TPN forum for several years, it is a pity that that forum is not more active, hence not being mentioned in my previous post.

In answer to HR Solutions, the title of my post was First impressions - comparison with other forums I read regularly, so I think I should mention some of the forums I am comparing it with

I have been reading posts on the Bogleheads forum for some time now, and it is a wonderful forum.

It meets my needs in almost every financial aspect except that it is not local, TFSA will always have an advantage there.
Mybroadband is an excellent forum for techies, it also has good local content, with a fair amount of posts coming from expats in places like Australia and the UK, I suspect.

TFSA is a moderated forum, with a clear focus on business, which in my opinion makes it stand out apart from other local forums, mybroadband is not moderated, which attracts some nuisance posters.

Paddocks which is focused on my other interest (property) is totally closed unless you subscribe, I mentioned it as it there not many other forums dedicated to local property that I know of.

There are obviously some very knowledgeable contributors to TFSA, I hope to learn from them and make a contribution myself, in areas where I have some experience that could help others?

Always interesting to hear how TFSA compares in the eyes of people with experience across a variety of forums. Overall, it seems we remain pretty much on track with what was hoped for.

I was at a TPN Sectional Title seminar this week, the presenter was Cilna Steyn, director of SSLR law firm in Roodepoort.

Very interesting and informative, I was especially interested in what she and co presenter Peter Mennen had to say about evictions and tenant management
