So just a quick question. I didn't read the whole thread so I apologize if this has been mentioned. When I wAs younger i read this whole thing about "Nag van die lang messe" or "Uhuru" Surprisingly (Or not) Many people believe this will happen. **key things here** Back when i saw this news they specifically pointed out that the Joburg area will be enclosed in such a way as to keep civilians from leaving the area in masses and to keep them stranded as to make it easier to "wipe them out"
\\Funny enough, I also heard about two months ago that Mandela was in fact dead and that the announcement of his death would be postponed (The source I got this info from is highly trustworthy, but he also had some doubt as to weather this was actually true)

So here is the ironic part....Mandela is dead, so the government is waiting to make it public. (What are they waiting for?) So here we go, E-tolls go Live and a day or two later we hear Mandela is dead. Now according to the conspiracy, there will be 7 days of mourning before the shit hits the fan. I guess my msg here is, good luck to all the oaks staying in Joburg. let's hope the conspiracy remains just that, a conspiracy! Peace and Love, Peace and Love.

Side note: R.I.P Mandela, you will be missed!

I confess I find it rather irritating investing time in putting down a response to a conspiracy theory rather than paying tribute to a man who was pretty damn special. But this obsession seems to deserve a response. So let's get it out of the way.

I suspect the fast tracking of development for a state funeral at Qunu probably occurred after Nelson Mandela's first serious hospitalisation scare. It is certain that at that point minds already started turning to just what the implications would be. Although Nelson recovered that time around, with the writing on the wall that the event was just a matter of time, it is no surprise that a serious effort was made for preparations.

I've actually been astounded just how obvious the preparation has been for this moment. Not just The State, but with the media as well. It is obvious that much time has been invested by the media in documentaries, snippets etc. that started rolling so promptly following the announcement of his passing.

Just how much effort had been put into his medical care? I have no doubt - lots. And that's entirely reasonable to my mind.

Was he still alive on Thursday day? I have little doubt - Bantu Holomisa reported on Friday morning of his visit to Nelson the previous day, and reports it was clearly his last moments (i.e. still alive). And I do believe Bantu Holomisa (and you will too if you know something of the man).

Was the date of Nelson's passing planned to subvert attention away from e-tolls, Nkandla etc.? The way JZ & co. are going, it wasn't a case of whether negative news about them might get pushed into the background on Nelson Mandela's passing, it was a case of what that particular news might be.

So all said, I doubt a conspiracy and "target date" - just planning for the obvious and inevitable; the quality of which will no doubt be tested over the coming week. And I for one hope that all goes to plan and without serious incident.

The old man deserves the finest of send-offs.

@Dave - off course you are right, we are so caught up in the day to day politicking that we miss the big picture. The big picture being celebrating the man's life, what he stood for and what he accomplished.

You know, you were right with your first posting about a time and a place...I apologize for trivializing his death...not because I think it is trivial, to the contrary, but because I was focused on entirely the wrong man.

Thank you for that response Dave. TBH, It saddens me to see people immediately after his death start targeting him as a dictator or terrorist. It's pretty pathetic. The reason why i asked this question is actually related to a video that I saw about the AWB still being in action and how they have camps for children to mentally "Fuck" them into believing a war is coming. It is really disturbing to think people are still living in such a tight bubble with no view of what is really happening in the world. I am far from a conspiracy theorist or fear monger. I just find it highly interesting!! Yet, some of these theories are something to talk about and make people aware of. (I WILL TRY AND FIND THE VIDEO AGAIN AND POST IT FOR YOU GUYS)

I wish I could go to the memorial, it will be a day to remember and for anyone who might be going. Enjoy the moment that you have to pay tribute to this hero of hero's!

No thanks... What you focus on grows. My advice find a new interest that benefits you, not one that puts fear into your mind.

Mandela was not perfect, no man is. But remember he saved us white people from the worst elements within the ANC, he was the voice of reason and moderation.

Thank you Madiba and may you rest in peace

11:51 - President Zuma arrives in the stadium to the sound of booing. The people are not happy.
11:56 - Mbeki and De Klerk were greeted with cheers, Zuma with booing. So there you go.
12:01 - To clarify, when Zuma's name was called by Ramaphosa the crowd didn't respond favourably. When previous presidents names called, loud cheers.

12:00 - Zuma does not look... happy.
12:43 - Meanwhile, the crowd is apparently booing each time Zuma's face appears on the big screen.

Yep! I think we witnessed history being made again yesterday.

An ANC cadre tried to say that there was a minority at FNB misbehaving and there were no instances at any of the other venues, hellooo!!, Zupta was not at any of the other venues either was he?
