In Jhb in Newtown I saw containers being stacked on top of silo's and old buildings. Did a bit of googling and found out they are going to be used for students to live in and apparently it is being done all over the world. I find it quite fascinating.

One would also have to consider the zoning of the area and the warehouse building. If it is not approved for residential use then I don't think you'd be able to live in it. The Maboneng Precinct comprises of a few converted warehouses, and that works there because they've created an environment conducive to living there.Last edited by Dave A; 29-Nov-13, 01:57 PM.Comment

Converting a warehouse into a house doesn't seem to be a good option. You can you use it as office, but warehouse as house might be troublesome.Comment
