Fly Singapore airlins - SUPERB airline.
They have arrangements with local hotels for discounted tariffs for their flyers, with discounted tours.
The Singapore Zoo is wonderful - day and night - the noght tour is brilliant. Not to mention the Botanical Gardens and the Bird Park... -

Singapore has draconian laws. Chewing gum used to be one of them. Their logic was that folks leave it everywhere. Used to be a Sing$ 1000 fine, if memory serves. In search of South African Technology Nuggets(R), for sale & trading in South East Asia.Comment

Still is - but tourists are exempt.
But G*d help you if you spit it out in the street!
You get T Shirts there that read
Singapore is a fine country.
Chew gum - $1,000 fine
Smoke and discard butt - $750 fine
Litter - $1,000
etc.
But, as a result it is a SPOTLESS city.Comment

I was at Hong Kong just a few weeks ago.
Beautiful city.
Here are the places we've been to:
Disneyland, Ocean Park, Avenue of Stars, Night Market, Victoria's Peak, Po Lin Monastery (Giant Buddha), Ngong Ping Cable Car
Also, don't forget to spend a day at Macau. It's just an hour ferry ride from Hong Kong.Comment

Singapore - Hong Kong
carloborja has provided some very good info on Hong Kong. Also great place for buying anything that you can imagine at a good price : electronics, clothing, jewelery, you name it.........you'l find it in HK...........just bear in mind to get street wise about where to buy. Tripadvisor.com is a great forum to do your research.Comment

Desert Man,
Talking about good buys, I think you are referring to the night market at Mong Kok. It's a great place to buy those affordable stuff. It is also where you can haggle big time for prices.Comment
