"comfort zone".....isn't it amazing how people are able to become comfortable with their own lot in life.

At what point do you accept that your life is boring enough (ok, lets be politically correct- stable enough) not to change any part of it.

      as Pink Floyd would say:
      The child is grown
      The dream is gone
      I... Have become comfortably numb

I for one will never reach that point, there is always another avenue to explore....if not to make money then just for the hell of it....

That was such an inspiring story Adrian. Pity she's MIA. No cell number or other way of contacting her? Maybe somethings happened to her and we (wrongly?) think she's been scared off.

Adrian, I may be mistaken, but I never saw a follow up from you regarding that young entrepreneur that was selling door to door on her bicycle. What became of her?

I never saw her again. I suppose that too much oppertunity is not a good thing either!

Don't want to be morbid, but A 20yr old female, making door-to-door sales in South Africa... I'd be more likely to think that she has met with trouble, for her sake I hope I'm wrong and she has just become phased by the prospect of commitment...

              Keep us informed Adrian.

It was a great story. Pity it didn't go according to script.

I know a guy who used to do these door-to-door sales of imported Chinese products. You know, the usual stuff: foot spas, knife sets, motorised can openers etc. He would drive to towns all across the country when they had festivals to sell his products to the crowds.

It was tough going but he managed quite well for 7 years doing this. These days he's the national sales manager for a very big South African company. He doesn't have any degrees or diplomas; just real-life, in-the-trenches sales training.

My point? Hopefully something like this happened to adrianh's young sales lady-to-never-be. Being able to sell is a brilliant skill to have.
