New Bank Notes

Had quite a laugh yesterday when trying to pay with the new banknotes. First time the person told me they did not accept the cash I was offering, assuming it to be counterfeit or something. Took me quite a while convincing her The next person accepted it, but still with a a lot of scepticism.

Will be interesting to see how many forging/counterfeiting attempts there will be.

One of the ladies at the office had a problem the machines we had wouldn't take the R20 note, I think the note is wider than before

I got to see a new R50 note today. My goodness! It is quite a change - certainly lot more than replacing an animal head with our revered Nelson's.

Now there's a thing. I wonder how much thought went into the possible consequences of such a big change.
