    Cheque deposit fee

A customer did a cheque deposit into my account, i got billed R15 because the customer deposited the cheque into my account and i have to wait 7 days for clearance , because standard bank have taken away my same day clearance i had for years, for some unknown reason and it is not because i havent managed my account properly. When i contacted the bank manager, i was informed that she could clear it straight away, but i would have to pay an addtional fee. Let me just bend over again and let the bank..............

The banks know just how to screw you. That is why some people keep their money under the bed. I have just paid R33 on a cash deposit of R2000 into my account. I accept that nothing comes for free and that there is a charge to the bank to handle cash, but this is ridiculous!

Blurock - would have only cost R16 at Capitec (0.8%)

I do everything via internet and EFT, so cash deposit fees does not really worry me. Just the occasional irritation.
