    Springboks

Congratulations to our junior Boks for winning the Junior World Rugby title. South Africa is proud of you!

After losing their 1st game to Ireland they showed character and came through after a hard fought game against the All Blacks. Its a long time since I've seen such passion in a team. Well done boys!

Now for the senior Boks to achieve a whitewash against England. Moer hulle Bokke!

Looks like our Bokke still need to learn how to play in the rain.

At least it was a draw

        Really bad weekend for England.

Their rugby juniors lost to the Baby Boks earlier in the week. Their rugby team drew with the Bokke but lost the series 2-0. Their soccer team failed again by losing to Italy.

better to be a SAFFIE (South African) today.

Strange that hey ......................... I cannot help but think how much the bookies must have had a say in this ..............
Sorry ........ but stopped watching cricket long time ago ...... about the same time that Hansie was caught, then the cricket bosses were caught with their hands in the till, then that indian lady that also pleaded ignorance, then ................. I dont think this site would have enough bandwidth to name all the corruption going on in cricket !!

Whenever big sponsorship and sport meet, you have corruption. I have also given up on cricket and soccer and formula one...

Bob needed some exposure. He is the "actual coach" for zim. The proteas was scared they would not be allowed to leave the country. It was a win and stay or loose and go situation. Well that is what it looked like.

The Boks, well when are they eventually going to remove the NAMES and put in some guys that actually want to play and to stop playing guys out of position.

                  Formula 1 too?

I reckon this has been an absolutely awesome year for Formula 1 so far. I had goosebumps watching Alonso, Hakkinen and Schumi on the podium together - the stuff of legends

Agree 100% with you Dave. This has been one of the closest seasons ever up untill this point. 12 cars within ,5 of a second to another. Every driver can win from 1 - 12. Make the wrong pit stop timing and you slip and slide in the last laps. Get the timing right and you are 3 seconds faster in the last laps. The amount of overtaking is simply brilliant.

I agree that Sunday's race was very thrilling. For Alonso to come first after starting from 11th was awesome. And this on a track where it is virtually impossible to pass! Also to see 3 past world champions on the podium was great.

My gripe with F1 is all the stupid rule changes which has made it into a lottery. Unless you follow F1 closely, it is hard to determine which driver is the fastest as there are so many things to factor in. I am just glad that they did away with the fuel stops.

The obligatory use of two sets of tyres was done to make it more interesting, but the lottery element plays into the hands of the bookies. Yes, more passing and action, but very much like T20 compared to test cricket.

Yes, I am afraid so. We only see the bling on TV, but much more is happening behind the scenes. Betting has also become huge, that is why we have had 8 winners in 8 races...

"A judge has jailed a German banker for more than eight years for taking $44 million (R370 million) in bribes during the sale of Formula One in a case that centred on a payment from Bernie Ecclestone, the sport's commercial chief.

Ecclestone, who gave evidence in court in November, has said he paid Gribkowsky £10 million (R131 million) to “keep him quiet” after the German put him under pressure over his tax affairs, and not to smooth the sale to CVC."
