biannual PAYE reconciliation

Can anyone please tell me when the biannual PAYE reconciliation is due (201108 period)?

I have opened EasyFile Employer and filled in the values on the "Declaration" form. But I can't seem to get it to 'balance' as the "Difference - Liability & Certificate Values" is the same as the Totals.

Do I need to create an IRP5 for each employee so that it sums these up into the "Total Value of Tax Certificates" section, thereby making the Liability & Due by/to you both Nil ?

Advice appreciated.

The recon is due by 31 October 2011.

Yes, you do need to create an IRP5 for each employee, the IRP5 will be for the period 1 March 2011 to 31 August 2011.

I see that SARS now has Easyfile version 5.0.2 available for download.

How about a sticky at the top of the tax forum with all the important dates ?

I'm sure some of the accountant members could easily contribute the info :

like the dates for :

1st and 2nd provisional tax forms
CIPRO returns - what & when
EMP501's
Compensation Commission earnings declarations
Company tax form dates
Personal income tax deadlines
Provisional tax deadlines
etc, etc.

... am sure there are many members that could benefit from such a list.

Maybe even some sort of opt-in mailing list to receive reminders 1 or 2 weeks before due dates ?

In fact I'm fiddling with some "quick fix" possibilities right now.
