Tax not being paid to Sars

My girlfriends tax have not been paid for nearly 4 years. Her boss an attorney and her accountant is deducting tax and uif every month from their salaries, but they just found out this week that they are not registered for uif and she phoned Sars and they said she is not registered for tax.

What are the implications in this regard?

She is stunned by this and does not know what to do.....My opinion is that either the accountant and her boss or just the accountant is taking the money for themselves.

I would appreciate your comments guys.

    thanks in advance

I can think of one fairly reasonable cause for the problem - an incorrectly captured ID number somewhere along the way. Has she mentioned to her employer that she doesn't seem to be registered with UIF and SARS?

The other option is to go to SARS and UIF with payslips in hand and let the chips fall as they may.

Normally an employed individual only has to submit an annual tax return when your annual remuneration is over R120 000.00, and of course normally this is where the brown stuff would hit the fan. However, under the circumstances it might be an idea to be proactive.
