    [Question] Investing in UK

I have a ancestral British passport and feel I am not taking advantage of it for financial benefits. We do travel and eventually I would love to buy some property there or send the kids one day to study in the UK etc.

Would you invest in Britian, can I invest if there is no actual physical address/ residence in the UK (have family and friends though ....).

Is there maybe a better use for the passport ... another country etc.

    Please advise ...

As far as I know a passport only has one use and that's to allow you entry to the country that issued it. I'm confused by your post, can you explain further the link you're making between an ancestral passport and investing?

Ditto Andy - and asked in the tax forum?

One thing I have heard - there are some bargains to be had in property in the UK at the moment, but I wouldn't try financing it on money loaned out of SA. And I don't know how far a passport would go in getting it financed in the UK. Of course if you've got the cash, financing is irrelevant.
