    New version of Efiling

It has been advertised on TV that the new version of Efiling can be downloaded from SARS site but I cannot find it.
Does anybody know where I can find this ?

    Maybe this is about e@syFile?

If you used e@syFile last year, when you open the previous version it tells you there is an update available. Just run the update program.

OK. I wanted to make sure we were talking about e@syFile. There are a couple of tricks.

It will ask you to back up the existing database. Do the backup otherwise you will lose last year's data!

Then after setting up the whole thing again (you'll see what I mean as you go through the process) you can merge the backup database into the new upgraded program.

If anyone has downloaded the "new" program, and has restored a backup of last years, could you please check your certificates from last year, on my system they indicate as unsubmitted.
I have proof of the submission, and had no queries on the IRP5's etc. so assume this is a problem with a restore?
Can anyone confirm if their database is showing the same?
          Thanks

I've got one certificate from the 2008 year with a status of created. The rest have still got a submitted status.

            Wierd.

I doubt there's any cause for alarm. Just bleeding edge bugs that they'll probably work out over time

              E@syfile EMP 501 Reconciliation

Can anyone advise if their declaration on the new program calculates the total due for the certificates of the SDL and UIF, I cannot seem to do anything that gives the total of the certificates, it shows a nil amount for the certificates, and then as if it is in credit for the full amount we paid for the SDL and UIF.

It does indicate the SDL and UIF number at the top of the reconciliation so it is reconizing that we are registered for UIF and SDL.

Sorry to have to ask, but as the help line is an 0800 I cannot use this as I am in the U.S. I would appreciate any assistance.

The auto-generated SDL and UIF calculations never balanced last year, Yvonne. So they've probably disabled it for this year as it was quite confusing.

Your post reminds me - I need to get this done and over too.

                  Dave,

Have you completed and submitted your returns on e@syFile?

Can you possibly help me again?
When the submission is made on e@syFile through the internet, is one still required to "electronically" save it on a disk and deliver together with printed copies to an SARS office.

The manuals don't indicate an "Or", just a comma.
I assume it is "completed", after submission through the e@syFile program?

I was told a company is not to provide the IRP5's to employees until notified by SARS that all is in order with the submission.

How is such notification given to companies who have submitted on e@syFile?

There is a status bar in the e@syFile software, would this indicate when the SARS have given permission to give the IRP5's to employees?

If no-one knows the answer to this question, should I just take a chance and go ahead and distribute the IRP5s anyway, and sort out any consequences later?

                  Would greatly appreciate your advice.

                  Thanks
                  Yvonne

Sorry to be a nuisance, but being in the U.S. I have a problem with obtaining information from e@syfile helpline.

                      Hi Yvonne,

I submitted this morning and according to my auditor, this is all you have to do with regards to SARS.
You have copies stored in a folder in any case.

You can hand out your IRP 5 's

S.A.R.S. do indeed require you to wait for correspondence from SARS, and it "typically" takes 21 days to process the reconciliation where after you will receive correspondence.

They use the wording "should" receive. LOL

I checked on our ordinary efiling online, and found a PAYE Reconciliation Status (including e@syfile submissions) and one can print out a status report.

IRP/IT3A - (Mine states Reconciliation Received - Not yet validated.
