    [Question] Small business tax question

Hi everyone, was wondering if someone could help me with a Small Business Tax question.

I have a client who has registered a (Pty) Ltd which meets most of the SBT requirements. The only one I'm not sure of is the with regards to him not having shareholding in any other businesses. He is a director of an NPO/PBO - does that still count as having shareholding elsewhere or not (because the NPO is a tax exempt entity).

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi

An NPO does not have any shareholding so even though he is director of the NPO, this does not count against him regarding the SBT requirements.

This includes the different kinds of NPOs you get which are Non Profit Companies, Trust or Voluntary Associations.

      Hii,

It doesn't count anywhere if he is claiming it, then don't need to worry because as Achmat also said that NPO does not have any shareholding.
