Buying shares in a company (VAT)?

    Hi there,

I was just wondering if and what the VAT implications are for the following:

1 - If one buys a share of a business (member share) are there any VAT payable?

2 - If one buys shares in a business (shares as on stock exchange) are there any VAT payable on them?

    Regards

2 - The only VAT you will be paying is on the charges of the transaction

Exactly. It's like bank charges; the are vatable but not the entries that give rise to them.
