if you are a white male in SA, beware they now have an advert running on SABC to indicate that they are directly targeting white middle aged males, or that seems to be the point they are trying to get across.
If you have noticed of late, very few adverts have white middle aged males, except SARS

Haven't seen the add, is there a youtube link? This doesn't sound like an advert but more of a shaming tactic to get white males to pony up cash for big daddy government. Most adverts are targeting women and children to influence purchasing decisions of the white males with all the cashola.
Seems that they think that a very small minority has a lot of bucs, how wrong they are.

The ad is not about having lots of bucks, it about the lying thieving middle aged white males who are stealing their hard earned money or should I say not declaring all their earnings.

I suspect the challenge is they had to plug into a stereotype that might actually care. The advert is not going to influence those without a conscience.
For example, it would have been useless using anyone who vaguely resembled Julius - everyone knows he didn't pay his taxes and, best anyone can tell, he didn't lose any sleep over it (at least until SARS started busting his chops). And even then, didn't seem to knock him off his stride. In fact in his case, the lesson would seem to be "deny, deny and lawyer up".
Aah! yes this is Africa where it is easier to apologize than to ask permission.
