[Question] Medical aid contribution and IRP 5

    Good day everyone

I am busy with my IRP 5's but am struggling with the medical contributions. We do not pay the medical aid so some of the guys have there own medical that they pay for themselves. I do however give them the credit on their PAYE every month. I would like to know how do I bring their own contributions onto the IRP 5 under 4005? None of them can tell me exactly what they contributed to their medical aid for the year?
am I missing the point, must I enter it on their IRP 5?

will appreciate any help at all.

    thanks
    Stephanie

In my opinion, no deductions should be given to an employee until they can prove their monthly contibution to a fund.

This having been said - they should be able to contact their medical aid fund and get a certificate which declares how much has been paid during the year.

Thanks, they all gave me proof that they belong to the medical aid, but upon contacting the medical aids, they say they can only give figures next month sometime and I am afraid it might then be too late.

I would then use the figure that has been used in the calculations for the duration of the year. If the certificate differs in any way, it will be up to the individual to claim or declare the difference.
