    Hi all

    A quick one.

    As what will a school register at SARS for income tax?
    • Private School
    • Public School

    I suppose it depends whether it is a Private or Public School (Public School as defined in South Africa not UK) - then are you talking about the Schools income or the School's employees' income?

        Isn't this about who owns it? If it's a government school (Model C as example) it's a public school. If it's privately owned such as Hilton College, Michaelhouse...
        Participation is voluntary.

          I go with Dave's definitions above - like Curro Holdings (group of schools listed on the JSE where PSG is a substantial shareholder) - I'm sure there will be some tax breaks for schools such as grants for teacher's salaries (where applicable) but otherwise taxed like any other business.
