    Debt Counsellors?

    Hey there,
I have an issue. Its a long story but to make it short, I worked at a company that builds houses. The finances were cleaned out by bad management and "reallocation " of funds.Long involved story....... The MD did a duck with a bunch of money and did not inform anyone about the situation. Certain preferred people were paid and the balance were not given notice or any form of relief.
In my misplaced sense of loyalty ,I hung on for 3 months in the hope things would come right(I was the Maintenance Manager).
Obviously with 3 months of no pay my debit orders etc suffered but I have caught up within 3 months of getting a new job and no order was more than 2 months in arrears
Now my question, Why have I had 5 Debt counsellors phone me to offer me their services? Is my situation not confidential?

Interesting question. I recently googled various companies looking for a partner to outsource "personal finance" training to. I contacted 3 from the internet and have subsequently been inundated with emails offering debt counselling assistance. I smell a BIG darn rat...
