    completely ignored by bargaining council

I wasnt too sure where to put this post so i just put it in here.
    okay here goes.
I worked at my previous company for 4 and a half years. I did my apprenticeship there. They fall under the metal industries law. one of the things that the law grants us as employees, is a 13th cheque. for the entire time i worked there i never got this 13th cheque. so the day i left, 1st of july 2010, i decided to lodge a complaint with the metal and engineering industries bargaining council.

Since the day i lodged the complaint it has been an endless volley of me asking whats going on, and the agent ducking and diving or blatently ignoring me. its actually gotten to the point where she has ignored my last 4 emails, and her boss is even igoring my emails (persistant hey?)

so i dont know what else to do. I guess I just gotta give up and let that money go. But advice to anybody who wants to complain to the meibc, it is like squeezing water from a rock, so good luck.

Gordo, i am not sure about this but maybe the solution for you is the CCMA. It is a requirement of the BC to deduct for annual bonus, not really a 13th cheque in my industry, but you would have to ask for the agreements to be sure in your regards. Dave is well versed in this and might be able to comment further. Dont let the BC dodge you, they have an obligation and if the dont respond take it to the minister of labour. They are empowered through his authority and they have to remain impartial to either party, not that they do.

    Good luck.
