[Question] Domestic worker termination of employment

    Hi

I would like to know if I have to pay my domestic worker severance pay for termination of employment due to the fact that I am moving out of town? She is employed by me in a private capacity and I do pay UIF. As far as I know it is one week's wages for every year of service for retrenchment. Does this also apply to termination due to other reasons such as moving?

    Thanks.

Moving falls into the category of "dismissal for operational reasons", so the answer is yes.
      Participation is voluntary.
