    Severance Pay

    Dear All.

I have three (3)questions,not sure if they had been discussed on previous forums

1.Does an employee that has been dismissed from work, entitled to claim a severance pay from the employer, let's say the employee has seven (7)years of service with this employer
2.If the employee was dismissed on grounds of theft and fraud, can s/he claim UIF compensation from the department of labour
3.If the gross income monthly income of the sacked employee was about R21k per month, how much will be the UIF monthly payment

    Will appreciate your assistance

If dismissed there is no severance pay and ordinarily no notice either.
Severance pay is ONLY for retrenchment, although in teh amendments in certain circumstances there will be severance pay at the end of fixed term contracts.
UIF can be claimed if there is a dimsissal.
