[Question] Notice Period

Good Morning.

I have been in a job from the 13th April 2015.

It is a fixed term contract and expires on the 12th October 2015.

I have in the interim I have secured a new job with permanent employment.

I sent my resignation letter on the 19th June 2015.

The notice period is very confusing to me and would appreciate some help.
