    [Question] Basic Salary

    Hi

I want to hire sales reps and I want to pay them basic and commission, but I want to know if this would be correct a basic salary with a sales target eg Basic Salary R18000 if you sell 2000 units and commission R10/25% from unit 2001 in a given month.

Should you not meet the 2000 units then your pay would be calculated: units sold x 30% of sales price or is it best to say commission only.

If its commission only can I still give medical aid, pension etc.

    Regards

Im not quite sure what you are asking but to try to help you -
We pay our consultants a basic salary and commission. The commission is obviously dependant on their target and certain criteria. If they don't hit target they don't get commission, but still get their basic. Therefore their basic is not dependant on anything. If you agree to a basic salary you have to pay the basic salary. If you are lucky enough to find someone that will work for commission only then you pay them commission only when they hit the target that you have both agreed on.
