Specs for injuries w.r.t. IOD's

Hi there,
I would like to know if anyone can help here- one of my clients is a Game Reserve and over the weekend an employee who was not on duty helped a ranger to change a flat tyre. During this episode the tyre-jack hit him in the face and has damaged two of his front teeth and his lip & gums are swollen up badly. Can he claim from IOD? He was on the premises of his employer, but he was not on duty and he was not authorised to be there.

I doubt WCC would reject the claim if one was made.

Thanks for the feedback, Dave. I have contacted a local company that deals with assisting employers on IOD claims and they advised that the employer should complete the WCL.2 form to report the accident, but then tick the block to say that they don't agree with the way it happened (are not satisfied with the explanation given by the employee), I think its no. 41 on the form. Then the commissioner decides if they will compensate the employee or not. So the employer cannot be blamed afterwards... Lekker man, Lekker.
