[Question] How to investigate a school governing body

    Hi there,
I have recently complained about a teacher and also requested some info on how certain aspects was handled at my daughters' school (wrt boarding fees discount etc.).

I now hear that certain parents have been discussing these "moans" of mine at social gatherings. (it was not moans, but good questions and made through the correct channels).

Whatever happened to confidentiality at a school governing body meeting?

When I mentioned this to the head of the SGB his reply was that most of the members share their email addresses with their wives and that is how the info get leaked out....
Surely this is inappropriate and should not be tolerated by the SGB...?

How would I go about asking who ever to investigate this?

    Thanks.

There are many documented cases like this:

    Tough one -
I doubt that you can do anything - The school governing body has the right to discuss complaints - I doubt that you can claim confidentiality because if you are making complaints against a teacher one would expect that you would be able to back those claims up. That said... such things are terribly unpleasant I agree!

BTW: I like the horse - my daughter is driving from Cape Town to PE this weekend to try 16 horses for a client.

thanks for the info... its a real nasty situation for the poor parents... because now most people does not want to complain, so the school basically does what it wants....
I just hope Karma will do her thing sooner rather than later... ()

Awesome w.r.t your daughter. She will certainly have a blast riding the horses. My eldest is the horse trails guide at Kuzuko lodge currently - its a five star lodge near Somerset East. Horses have such a calming effect on people. We have a few here on the farm too.
