    Kettle tripping smart meter

I have a client who reports that sometimes when he switches on his kettle it trips the smart meter. The smart meter is a Conlog wBEC44(09).

Here is a photo of the installation in the meter box.

When our service team went to site, we could not reproduce the fault/trip.

Any ideas as to what might be causing the tripping problem?
Is there a way to access a fault log on this type of smart meter?

Update: I have told the client to enter short code #073# after the next trip and let us know what comes back as the result.

Is there solar on site ?
If there is then I would put it down to when kettle switches off that there is a slight feedback which trips meter - Have not heard of kettle on doing it unless when kettle goes on the inverter and battery ramp trying to supply and create a feedback

We have a BEC44 that is tripping on feedback and have tried everything to stop it - Mainly when sun comes into play and battery is also supplying load
They are set over sensitive and Utilities refuse to get a code to allow 50w feedback to stop the problem

Did you ever find out what was causing the trip

The client never came back to us.

The full story is we had issued a 9.2.b COC on the installation.
The client then put in solar (using someone else).
They called us in due to the smart meter tripping problem.
We suggested it was probably due to the solar installation giving momentary backfeeds on larger load changes.
          The client claimed:
          1. the solar guys had already tried and couldn't solve it, and
          2. besides which the problem was already occurring before they put in the solar installation (which I rather suspected was... perhaps not entirely true).

It appears once informed on how to identify why the meter was tripping, the finger of blame was redirected in the correct direction.

Those meters will trip when Solar with batteries are installed. Usually a back feed occurs when the batteries are fully charged and the solar generation is more than the load.
