New ZA socket outlets and plugs.

Took a walk through Game yesterday.
    Needed a new electric kettle.
Nowhere could I find a kitchen appliance supplied with a new za plugtop.

Now we, as electrical contractors, are forced via legislation to install these new socket outlets.

Why is it that manufacturers and suppliers on the other hand are not also forced via legislation
to supply the appliance with the correct new plugtop ?

I would have thought that a change would already be visible on the most commonly used domestic appliances ie. kettles and toasters, but
nada, nothing. I can understand why clients are reluctant to have the new socket outlets fitted and insist on the old style double plugs.
They cannot find an appliance that has the new plugtop attached.

Are we not maybe wasting our time ?

We have been down this road, it's a joke.

I dont install Za socket outlets, unless the customer requests them.

We have much bigger problems in this industry, its like the the council installing speed bumps on our roads, 500 m away from my house, half the road is missing, but we got new brand new speed bumps. Just smile

Comments are my opinion, unless regulations are attached to support the comment. This is social media, not a court room.

It will be interesting to know if there's any legislation in place regarding the manufacturing and supplying of appliances with the appropriate plug tops or is it a case that the end user must fit the new ZA plugtop ?
