Just wanting to know more or less, whats the going rate per socket outlet, and per downlight?
Its just me and the assistant, and it's in a fancy neighborhood.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated
Thank you
Hi there, I have recently registered an electrical installation company and would like to know what are the average installation rates for single phase socket outlets, lighting points, db wiring and coc's. Thanks
Im looking for some info on price estimates per point. Light point, plug point, stove and geyser points etc. Can anyone assist me with the relevant info? Or will the ECA be able to help me with it?

R450 per plug point and R250 per downlight.
Comments are based on opinion...not always facts....that's why people use an alias.
We have just been awarded a contract , after a tender process, and our downlighter prices were double that and excluded the wireways, light switches and c/breakers. Similar with plug points. If I used the rates from this contract, on the next, I could be completely out.
On the plug points we vary on the same job between R 350.00 and R 1 200.00 depending on position. Also excludes wireways and CB.
It is dangerous to use one size fits all and the quickest way to closing the doors.

quick way to get rid of the competiton.
We wired up a couple hundred houses for a low cost project ... our teams wired a house a day ... it is simple ... you mark off the layout on the floor in the workshop ... place the light switch and plug boxes on the floor throw a piece of twin from the DB to the point quick connection ... roll it up into a bundle ... onto the bakkie ... into the roof unroll and drop to each point ... secure the box to the wall the plaster covers everything.
What a lot of people dont know is the only difference between the low cost houses and the really expensive estate houses ... is the price ... the same shyte wiring method is used by most property developers ... just the fools who buy estate houses think they getting a lamborghini ... but little do they know ...its just a kit car with a nice looking finish.
