Sounds like a scam to me. I also have many spammers on my forum, who only register to spam advertisements like these

Let me put it this way - this thread didn't start out in the Scam forum
This post stayed and was moved into the Scam forum because I think it might help people to be aware of this sort of approach. This is worse than spam - It's attempted fraud.

As for all the spam attempts - At one time I considered having a spam forum on the site somewhere so that people can get some sense of what sort of trash is being peddled out there. But it would really clutter up the New Post pages so I dropped the idea.
