    Another Phishing attempt

It amazes me that somewhere someone will keep trying... I suppose because there's always the odd chance that someone may actually fall for these!

I will admit, this is one of the more creative ones I've received to date, except for that very obvious "your account will be suspended until..." paragraph at the end.

    Account Update Notice

    Dear Valued Clients,

Absa has initiated a protective procedure to secure all online banking accounts against theft and identity forgery. As a result of this Security Program, Your Random Verification Number (RVN) and Transaction Verification Number (TVN), has been temporary deactivated we require you to bear with us online for some minutes and follow the instructions as we will be sending you some sms for this verification purpose in other to finish the Security Program Activation.follow the link below

    Please go to :https/important/service/update/absa.co.za
    * I didn't copy the link here, but it cleverly contains words like "secure-server" *

We would suspend your access for safety reasons until you upgrade.

    Thank You

Mother, to help to get rid of these phishing and spam, download Spaminhilator at www.spamihilator.com/. This is a free program and actually works very well. Just give it a try !

Had a client yesterday who showed me an e-mail from Telkom. It said they had to change or verify their details otherwise their service would be suspended.

At the bottom of the e-mail was the suffix @ymail.com

Client was truly concerned that their service would be suspended and wanted to actually reply, but luckily asked me first.

I get ABSA e-mail's, I think I got Std. Bank once too. The sad part is, there are people that actually DO fall for these scams.
