Get a dot co domain name - scam or just sharp practice

There seems to be a big push to South Africans to buy .co domains. The pitch is that with all the "good keyword-rich" .com domains taken, and after considerable pressure, a new domain for commerce has been opened up with the .co extension.

Just so you folks know - the .co extension implies Columbia, just like the .za extension implies South Africa. It denotes a geographical region of interest, not a commercial interest.

If you are interested in a website targetting Columbia, or believe that getting a .co domain is the next gold rush, registering a .co domain using Godaddy will currently cost you $11.99 for your first year, which is substantially cheaper than what was being pitched to me on the phone.
    Participation is voluntary.

This is like deja vu. A while ago they were running the same scam with .BZ domains which was supposedly a new domain for 'business'.

Google/Yahoo and Bing support local search - a DOT COZA (co.za) is your best best to show up in the results when someone is looking for a local business or service. Set up a profile on Google and setup a page on Google Local - Google looks first at theses pages first before searching it's database.

So get a DOT CO.ZA domain, you can do it yourself at CozaReg or email me and I can assit.

.co domains are very commonly used for spam, and will probably give you a bad reputation just for having it.
