    Paying International Affiliates

I Know this has probably been asked before, but am hoping for some more up to date info.

    1. What is the best way for a SA Company to pay international affiliates(individuals)
    2. Tax/Legal Ramifications for SA Company
    3.Forex laws etc?

I know that Paypal has a way to do this, but am not sure if this facility is available in SA, or even if it is, what about point 2 and 3

    Thanks guys!

I have used paypal on numerous occasions as well as paying with a credit card directly.

Speaking to a representative at FNB, it would seem that their default codes for outward forex funds would not allow this? I understand that if an international affiliate has a company and a paypal account, he could just invoice us for the commissions, and for us to pay by credit card, but what about individuals?

People in most countries can upgrade their Paypal account to a merchant account without the hassles we have to put up with here in SA.
          Participation is voluntary.

              Hi Dave, thanks

Just to clarify, currently we are paying around 725 affiliates in SA Monthly
We use Netcash, where our software uploads a CSV eft file to their site, we choose a date and then just approve it...done they get paid.

We have had numerous request to offer our product in other countries, and up until now was difficult...but now we can.

So an affiliate registers a merchant account on Paypal (he is an individual) I cant see where we can do a bulk upload to pay them.....we are hoping that in time our international affiliates would exceed 725 we are getting just from SA?

              Any Idea's

Seeing as Google uses them, and they have a local presence - You might want to talk to Citibank and see if they have any options available for you.

Just request people to use the "Personal" option when sending you payments at Paypal. That way it's not looked at as income. Because like a few others mentioned, what if my friend owed me $200 and just sent it via Paypal? That's not an income so he would send it as Personal and it wouldn't count toward my 20k.
