    What benefits do you see your Web Site bringing you?

    Does it make you visable?
    Does it make you more available?
    Does it give you more reach?
    Has it saved money on your advertising budget?

    What say you?

    Publishing your email address on your website (or any website) sure can be a good source of spam

    More seriously, I'm having trouble answering the question because my websites don't operate in isolation - they're part of an online marketing strategy with many components.

      I have had a number of inquiries through the web, and had some good deals. Interestingly enough the web site that has brought the most business was done on publisher and a simple copy and paste into the web page, and cost me nothing.

      So yes it does give presence, and if you google the company name and owner and some product names, it does show up. It also works in conjunction with Linkindn, when people are checking who they are dealing with.

      It is a a silent sales point.

        Spam is the pits, you can either accept it or do something about. One possible solution is to disguse the email adress so that bots can read it but it is still human readable using ASCII.

        I ask the question above, because at a recent seminar Google held, they were talking about visibility and the fact that much pre-reseach is done online and then converted offline. Of course they want to sell you advertisng but it is possible to build a presence around your Web Site using the tools available online, such as Twitter and FaceBook. The way a presence is built would depend on the company's market and its needs.

        And as seen below - if it works and it ain't broke, don't fix it.

          I get what they mean on visibility, a web site is basically 0s and 1s unless it comes up on Search Engine Results, you basically have to make people aware of it, Facebook and Twitter are one way.

            It makes you available to people miles away from you, who you cant imagine reaching on foot. so surely being online helps you conduct business not just in place of your physical existence but also reach far beyond. The marketing becomes convenient and low cost online, as compared to using flyers and postal mails, or in person visits which were costly as well as time consuming methods. And most of all, people prefer shopping and conducting business online, all they have to do is log on to their Tablets and BlackBerry and the world is on their tips

                Indeed. Something you can consider in promoting your business or for marketing strategy.

                  First thing you do is invite customers to sign up for a news letter - creat an email list that you can market future products to. If they join your mailing list that means they are intreested in your products

                  Your Meta Tags
                  <meta name="description" content="Default Description">
                  <meta name="keywords" content="Magento, Varien, E-commerce">
                  <meta name="robots" content="NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW">

                  Change the description & add keywoords and seriously why are you telling Search engines not to list you?

                  Good SEO is not expensive - just common sense!

                    I find it easier to search the net than to page through the yellow pages. Make use of the advanced search of your search engine. With modern phones you don't have to be near a computer. For that alone it is worth to have a presence on the web.
