    [Question] The business Idea

    1. After many trips around the sun, one decides that working for another is not the way one wants to live life. So one thinks and thinks and eventually comes up with a product. What is the next step to expanding the idea and turning it into something viable?

    2. Are they any Angel investors in SA or venture capitalist?

    3. I was reading someone tagline which quotes henry ford and the question came to mind how does one sell a business idea of the car to investors who are only looking for faster horses?

If you have a business idea and no money, it is very difficult to turn that idea into a product.

Yes, there are angel investors out there. Unfortunately they want a guaranteed return on their money and will be unlikely to fork out millions for "pie in the sky".

If it is possible to start small to test the market, you can use bootstrapping and approach family or friends. If it is a major idea, you need to speak to the experts in those industries for further information and to explore possibilities. (but only after signing a non-disclosure and non-circumvention agreement).

The DTI and other bodies also have incentives for new innovation which may be explored. Send me a private message with your details and we can explore possibilities.

Thanks for the info. I do have the product and have sold small amounts of the product, but will try the channels you suggest.
