What about starting a mini car wash business - more to help out than make cash?

what you need:

Couple of buckets, sunlight liquid, a few cloths and water.

Find a reasonably busy road, and two unemployed guys that work quickly.

A sign that say "hand car wash - 10 minutes - R20"

Maybe a couple of directors chairs, newspaper and some shade.

R7.50 per worker per car and R5 to you.

Not trying to compete with the full service valet, just a quick wash for cheapskates like me. I am sure 20 - 30 cars a day would not be crazy but even 10 will give the guys some cash with very little outlay on your part.

Just an idea - but could potentially employ quite a few part-timers across the country

Good idea, but supplies the water?

You may get a fine for stealing municipal water as the taxi guys are doing all over town.

I think 5lt per wash and 10lt per "rinse" would probably be ok - so 3 50lt water container should be ok for 10 cars.

or if in durban you get 300 lt free per day...they fit a regulator.
