    Registering a new business

    Hi Guys!

I wish I could still register a CC, but what is best type of company to register under the new companies act for a small type business? A CC would have been the perfect option because it is fairly cheap and relatively simple to register and acts as a legal entity. But I guess the times have changed...

    Regards,
    Johan

There was another discussion about this on another thread - you will have to look for it. But I am in the process of starting another business and we are buying a shelf cc that is older than 2008 and can be converted to a pty ltd within 2 years at no extra cost. We are also changing the name of the cc to a name that suits us, which we are presently applying for.

Would this be the thread you're thinking of, Kevin?

I think we covered some good ground in that one when it comes to companies vs cc's at the moment.
      Participation is voluntary.

        Hi Guys,

There's a shorthand pty that is very similar to a CC & looks quite simple to register.
You would require slight knowledge of directors & shares though.
