A while ago, Peter Carruthers talked about moving your SA-based business to the BVI for the tax-breaks and a break from all the red tape South African businesses tend to face. Specifically, these things appeal to me:
My business is 100% online and there is no good reason for me to keep it in SA as far as I can tell.
Does anyone know of a reputable company that can help me with incorporating in the BVI and what the costs involved are likely to be?
Has anyone investigates this extensively and share experiences?
- No tax
I'd of course still have to pay tax on money I earn from the business, but that still means I get to enjoy a larger piece of my pie.
- No bookkeeping requirement. It's just not a requirement there, like it is here.
- International appeal. US folk will trust a BVI company more than an African company - regardless of country.
