Employing a freelance blog content writer

Hi Guys, I am considering paying somebody to write some articles for a blog that I Run, and I just wanted to get your advice for what to pay as an hourly rate (part time, home based, 2-3 hours per day)

    Thanks

    Paid Blogging

You need to make your decision on what you need. Are you providing the material and they update your blog or does the blogger research and write the editorial self? How complex is the subject.?

I would suggest anything from R12.50 per hour to R25 per hour depending on the complexity.

You may also consider a company like tHe cReative aLternative that provides this service

    Hope this helps

I suggest a rate per word, like magazines and newspapers. you can control that, it is measurable.
Hours and time are beyond your control to ascertain.

I'd say it would be much better to get a per-article or per-word rate (as Anthony suggested). Writing is something that can take any amount of time, so you aren't sure of how long it should take a writer to write a particular article.

I agree. Exposes you to risk about writer lying about hours worked. Rather pay per word or per article.

What kind of rate would one expect to pay, per word for such a service?
