    Business within a business

    Hi all,

I have a friend who owns a take-away shop. The kind where you buy burgers, pizza, etc etc

Now he would like to install a few PC's and have a little internet cafe / corner within this take-away place of his.

Someone walked in there a few weeks ago & told him he has to pay some kind of fee to have this internet shop / facility within his establishment.

Is this true? Or is he allowed to do whatever he wants in his shop ? Seeing as though he is paying rent for the shop.

Isn't that like saying you have to pay extra if you put in a 54cm TV with access to DSTV for the clients to watch whilst awaiting their order? lol

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Just who is "someone"? Are we talking about the landlord?

No apparently it was some arb guy who walked in there and presented him with some kind of form stating the extra costs etc.

I'll get a copy of the form, scan it and post it here. I think that'll help a great deal with getting answers.

Without knowing who the guy was I can't imagine why there would be 'fee' involved.

Iburst set up 'free' wifi for a restaurant near us, this was free to their customers but the restaurant had to pay. Maybe it is a fee for internet access and the equipment.

No apparently this "guy" said he has to pay a levy of some sort to have the PC's in his shop connecting to the internet generating revenue off that.

I requested the document to be scanned and sent to me. I'll then attach it here.

Waiting with baited breath for this document. Sounds like nonsense to me.

I was at a store last week that had a corner internet cafe in it as well. I saw a certificate on the wall from the films & copyrights authority of sort sort saying they are authorized to run their internet cafe...

                  Maybe its this...

Something to do with information it seems...

YES ! Films & whatever authority. I think it's that document! He showed it to me in last week but very briefly. Awaiting the document from him.

But I'm quite sure it's this films thing.
