[Question] Emmigration Funds (Business & Personal)

Hi,

I am in the process of looking to shift myself and my business to another country, due to various reasons. I would like to know (or where to find out) how much money (cash and/or assets) I can take out personally and through my business (untaxed of course).

Also are there "legal" ways of getting funds offshore via shares, stocks etc??

This document from the Reseve Bank seems to be the official guide when it comes to moving funds offshore for emigration. It looks like there's no problem up to R4 million for individuals and R8 million for a family unit. From there the fun and games start.

In my hunt, I also came across a page which would be of interest to people looking at overseas property, and this article which is of interest to companies wishing to invest overseas.

If time is on your side, it seems there might be potential in those avenues too.

Thanks Dave, I am looking into these two links, and have downloaded the reserve bank document. It looks far better than I initially thought...
