Any Pastel users having a VAT error message this month?

If you are a Pastel user, there is a good chance that you might have experienced (or will soon experience) a cryptic message while processing a journal or document this month or the next...

Particularly if you started using Pastel a few years ago...

The message is "This tax type is not allowed for this date".

Up until a few years ago, any new set of accounts created in Pastel assumed that the current VAT rates would expire on 31 December 2010!

Therefore, if you are processing a transaction dated 1 January 2011 or later, and the transaction has VAT implications, you will most likely get the above message.

    The solution is simple.

Go to Setup...Tax, and select the Percentages tab.

Simply change the end dates to, say, 31/12/20.
