Just a thought, but if a MA scheme has cheap rates, then they can't offer good benefits, or if they do, they can't sustain it as the cash would dry up.

Suppose it's the old saying : you get what you pay for.

Personally, I stick with Discovery. 1 week before the birth of our first child, our MA ( OmniHealth ) went under. Joined Discovery and they covered us completely - birth, 3 days ICU for the baby, the lot - hospital and doctors bills. We didn't have to pay a cent. Yes, the premiums are a lot every month, but I have peace of mind that our MA will probably have funds available to cover us if anything major happens.

I can vouch for Medihelp. We pay about R1000 for my wife & I (not very sick people) and they offer good services. Everything we need it covered. They mainly use the NetCare hospital group, and every doctor visit I've had so far was free.
