    Meet ups.

Anyone interested in like minded people having a couple of beers and sharing knowledge? As a very small start up I would really like to meet a couple of guys that have "been there and done it".

Set up a Christmas meeting about a year ago, maybe we need a easter meeting.

Why not set up a 'virtual meeting' as a thread on TFSA?

Shoot the breeze as you would in an informal setting - one liners back/forth - almost like an interactive chat-room - Skype etc. Perhaps Dave A could find a suitable setting for the straight-talk that could flow during this interaction time?

Would be a very interesting concept to implement - especially for the distance-challenged' amongst us.

Putting in a java based chat room is dead easy. The questions are where to put it and is it really going to be used. The limitation with chat is the chatting parties need to be online at the same time.

Similar limitation with meet-ups really; just add that everyone needs to be at the same location too

Nothing that can't be overcome, of course. All we need is a good excuse reason

A "welcome back to Durban" for Des when he gets here comes to mind...

Most boards have a shoutbox mod, I personally detest them but maybe you can ringfence it somewhere unobtrusive.

This is a very good idea, but as Dave has said we need a good reason. May it can start small people based in each city/area and then it can spread. Personally I would be glad to meet up with the senior members of the forum.

Certainly a nice idea. Entrepreneurship can be very lonely. Having a place to bounce ideas in realtime would be a very welcome first.

And as there are only one or two venues in 'slummies' were bound to bump into one another at least twice a day.

That will be a challenge, especially in the summies as you put it. I think the idea might be good in the big cities then.
