    Moving Africa forward

Hi people Am here to share and learn from your experiences about Africa future.
    My question is:
Is africa conscious about it future, regarding the multiple social issues across its lands?
Is africa Werstern's student or wersten house maid?

    Welcome to TFSA
Is africa Werstern's student or wersten house maid?
    Or eastern mineral store?

I'd suggest we have a self-image problem for starters...

Is there a plan? One made by Africa for Africa?

I can't help thinking Africa is mostly in survival mode - reactive, not proactive.

Africa is all about the survival of the elite. We have been asleep and have forgotten our roots. Africa used to be the richest continent as far as mineral values were concerned. We have our priorities totally screwed up. We need to take stock.

        oh yes!
Africa problem is about its own mineral. Naturally Afeica is the richest continent in the earth, but the poorest continent in the world. Why because its own sons are full of the selfishnesses.
Africa is not werstern student because a student always pratices what he learned from his teacher(and as we can see wersten world is always growing positivily) when Africa is collapsing gradually.
So honestly africa is werstern Maid. We are made to clean, take care and assume werstern house. and for me that is why our Presidents always go to secure and hide their fortune there. African Diamons, Gold, woods, fishes, lands money are there in their banks while is a routine for a simple cityzen to send his children to school. I think we can say definitly no to all those nonsense. Am not reading through your mind but don't get confuse or say how can we say that Big no. The first thing I want from you is to tell me how do you feel ?

hi Emilganos, and welcome to the forum

Although South Africa isn't really Africa (we're an indipendant republic), there's still a lot to learn about African culture even from us.

I'm not entirely convinced that Africa is so unique in its problems & the challenges it faces! No matter where you go in the world, almost every continent has its own share of skeletons in the cupboard. India, China, South America, Europe & even the mighty USA all have similar problems that are being ignored or even hidden from public view. Africa is not the only continent with megalomaniac leaders milking their countries dry & investing their ill-gotten gains in offshore bank accounts.

              hahhahahahahaha, HI! SoftDux
Oh my friend who told you that South africa is not really part of Africa?
Afica is a Continent and South africa is one of its 54 countries.
Yes you are right by saying you have to learn about Africa, because when we say africa we mean 54 differents countries with thier multiple cultures, languages, people, and traditions so all of us we have to learn about africa. As charity begins at home you must start learning about africa by learning about South africa first.

Listen. The guy that stated SA is not really a part of Africa let out a state secret. Please don't let anybody else know.

                  Hi Mr MichaelB,
I really appreciate your point of view but, We must aggree on one point. We can not compare Africa with China, Europe, South of America..or USA. Why? Because if
Those Continents have mineral or raw materials they will seat at worlth summit for ever and ever.
So why we as africans don't want to waste our time just to think about and how to manage our recourses to build our continent. that is my real question.

                    hahahah my friend BBBEE;
I think we must organise one day conference somewhere and the entry must be free to remaind our people that South africa is tightly part of Africa. I think it may change some somethings positively in the end of the day.

I know this much - as long as we look outside Africa for reasons or solutions, we're not going to really change the situation.

My feeling is we've got to look within. We need to build ourselves. Africa is not going to get dragged up by anyone else North, East or West of us. As Michael's comment suggests - they've got their own problems.

We need to lift ourselves up, rise up, look within, face our weaknesses and start working constructively on addressing them.

It frustrates me incredibly. Africa has such potential and yet we seem unable to get the go-forward from within ourselves to realise it - to make it happen.

Bleating at the UN isn't going to change the way we go about things. It's not other countries or continents that put us down or hold us back. We're doing it to ourselves!

Prior to 1994 SA had great mineral value that the world wanted. We even discovered oil. Our gold, diamonds and other precious metal were the best by far. The world fought for them and we were labeled as a Racist Apartheid Country.

When the new government took over we lost all our values, roots and priorities, went down the tubes. We pushed the price of labour through the ceiling. The raised labour costs had a ripple effect and all other costs were also affected.

When you think of it we have one group of people to blame. One organization to blame. The Unions. Mainly Cosatu. They are more destructive than they are good. Then they make the masses believe that the previous white government is to blame.

Diamonds are now being sort in other countries like Moscow. Copper still comes from Zambia. But very little of it now.

So lets summarize what has happened. We as business owners have become exceptionally lax. We have this "I don't care as long as you leave my business and family alone" attitude. We need to wake up and take stock. If you want to work with everyone then there must be absolutely no colour. We must get rid of the Unions who act militant and work with those who are willing to accept change for all and not one.

We need to take stock and then start to rebuild South Africa, based on our own strengths and Industrial Genius.

Do a national SWOT analysis (Stealing What Others Toil)

Seriously, if we should find a way to empower everyone there should be a huge exponential increase in business, right?
More profit, more business ad nauseum.
Why is this not the case?
Is it because the recipients of this largesse really are consumers and not producers of wealth? and in time the status quo rebalances itself, the rich will get richer, the powerful get what they want and the rest go to the wall?

                          We need a mindset adjustment
'Look to yourself to create whatever it is that you want, stop relying on others to lead the way, become an individual, stop being part of this collective that is draining us all'

Inevitably those few that can provide assistance will suffer 'Donor Fatigue' and cease being the source of goodwill.

For Africa to succeed there must be no more 'BIG MEN' no 'WABENZI' simply democratic 'ACCOUNTABLE' governance, no more is needed.

That is a particularly sharp insight, Wynn.

I signed up to a South African company (Lime Media) a few months ago and the results were fantastic. They brought my website and online adverts into the 21st century putting me on the front pages of google! i believe we should trust our own South African companies more other wise we will constantly rely and build other countries economies when instead we should be building and strengthening our own!

Lime Media is a digital agency that specialises in Google Ads, Social and lead generation.
