    [Question] Foot Count

    Hello All,

Does anyone know how to use the foot count figures given in retail malls?

    e.g.
    1. Rule of thumb or percentage of foot count that could be expected to come into your shop or buy from you ?

    2. X amount of foot count should equate to X amount of price per sqm rent ?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I could see that ratio of footcount to shop customers being wildly different for each store. Hard to see a rule of thumb being much use, unless you get the ratio for an existing shop in a similar segment.
    Participation is voluntary.

You are probally right that each segment will have different ratios as well as different locations of the mall and social standing of the people in the area.

Im mostly trying to figure out if the foot counts as punted by the malls, justify such high rentals they charge as well as will it bring in the required turnover for the business to at least make a modest \break even net profit.

From what i heard some franchisors have certain formulas they use to do there forecasts and justify the site!!!

Was wondering if anyone knows of these. Specifically for the fast foods segments.

      Thanks
