How to get a forum going?

    Hi

I have been visiting this forum since inception and have found the progress to be slow. The value of a forum surely lies in the quantity as well as quality of posts. (no criticism Dave, simply an observation - mostly of my own impatience)

How can one go about increasing the number of participants?

I am asking regarding this forum but also because I have been toying with the idea of a forum on my own site for a while.

I have seen a site called www.mygenius.co.za (who are obviously putting large amounts of money into advertising) publish in the 1time magazine and that is why I joined them. I joined BW after receiving email newsletters for many months. I have never joined simply because I happened to come across a site on the net.

    What do you guys think??
    Regards

    Debbie
